Where the specification calls for frequent operation, these seals incorporate a core of stainless steel mesh. A compression factor of 30% permits this construction to achieve the resilience required against the specified load. Vapour tightness is guaranteed by the use of a special polymeric fire-retardant coating.
Ceramic fibre cores can be adopted instead when sealing doors that are only used occasionally.
